Dan Wimsatt is the founder and Chief investment
Officer at aAd Capital, founded in 2005. aAd Capital focuses on
small-capitalization contrarian investments. Mr. Wimsatt is
responsible for all investment and operating decisions at the firm.
He is fifty-one years old and has over twenty-six years of
investment experience.
Prior to aAd Capital, Mr. Wimsatt was a co-founder and Member of the Management Board at Bricoleur Capital LLC, an investment management firm specializing in long-short equity strategies. He established the firm with $1.4 million in 1993 and was responsible for all aspects through 1997. With assets of approximately $270 million, Bricoleur sold a 50% equity interest to Asset Alliance Corporation in 1998. Mr. Wimsatt retired from the firm in 2003 with assets reaching approximately $1.0 billion.
Prior to Bricoleur, Mr. Wimsatt was employed in several capacities with Wall Street Associates, a small-capitalization growth investment management firm. In addition, Mr. Wimsatt spent five years in equity sales at Goldman Sachs & Co. and served three years as a consultant with Accenture.
A native of Minnesota, Mr. Wimsatt graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a BA in Economics from St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota, and received an MBA from Stanford University. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst. Mr. Wimsatt is an active member of San Diego Social Venture Partners and serves on the Endowment Board at St. Olaf College.
