SDSVP offers many ways for Partners to invest, engage, and transform. The variety of opportunities maximizes Partners’ personal experience and their community impact. Partners can join a Working Group, Resource Team, the Board of Directors, or serve as a Lead Partner to gain knowledge of philanthropy and the nonprofit world. As a result, they help ensure that Investees and Partners get the greatest benefit from SDSVP.
Lead Partners: Act as primary liaisons between SDSVP Partners and staff, and the Investee. Lead Partners work to identify volunteer projects, develop the vision for the Investee/SDSVP relationship, oversee budgeting needs, and provide leadership and executive coaching.
Investment Working Group: Identifies the nonprofit organizations that are chosen as Investees. Team members learn about the area of focus through a discovery process, then review proposals, conduct site visits, and select the final Investees.
Mark Fackler, Chair
Portfolio Working Group: Monitors progress and reviews milestones of each Investee to ensure the success of their partnership with SDSVP. The group offers strategic guidance and support to the Lead Partner and assists them in determining the best Investee work plan.
Steve Ness, Chair
Social Committee: Plans and implements activities and social events to keep the “Social” in Social Venture Partners.
