San Diego Social Venture Partners are enormously proud of all we’ve accomplished in 6 short years! We drive community solutions with investments of time, expertise and resources. The Partners have accelerated change by developing organizational capacity and sustainability in non-profits, empowering them to serve the community of San Diego more effectively and efficiently. In striving to achieve these objectives, our Partnership has grown from 15 people in 2001 to 140 today – we’ve made a big difference in our community, while making new friends and having fun too!
AS A PARTNER
Our Partners are a diverse group of individuals seeking to make meaningful contributions to non-profit organizations by sharing their skills, time and financial resources. Each Partner Unit (single, married, etc.) makes a 3 year commitment to SDSVP, pledging a minimum of $5,000 per year for 3 years. It’s our hope that people who become Social Venture Partners want to feel they are, or want to be, part of a community of lifelong, informed and inspired philanthropists.

AS A NON-PROFIT
Each year we select a focus area for study and investment. After a careful investigative and evaluative process, we select two or more non-profits (we call them Investees) for our 3 year grant awards of money and time. This, our 6th investment cycle, will be awarding grants to San Diego non-profits which help the elderly. In prior years, grants were made in the areas of: parental education, financial literacy, employment development for disadvantaged youth, the environment, foster children and the homeless.
