What are Resource Teams?

SDSVP helps organizations achieve excellence in its operations, infrastructure and leadership.   The intent is so that the organization can achieve its mission effectively and move toward becoming self-sustaining over the long term.  SDSVP partners invest their time in addition to their money to provide “capacity building” resources in Finance, Board Development, Marketing and Communications, Fund Development, Information Technology and Strategic Planning.  During the three year relationship, the partners work with organizations to achieve specific capacity improvements and performance targets to enable organizations to deliver desired outcomes for clients and the community.   We have formed specialty teams of experienced partners to achieve those objectives.  We call them Resource Teams.

Board Development and Governance

Joyce Ross

Members of this team offer experience in serving on not-for-profit boards and expertise in making boards more effective.  Services offered include:

• Review of size, composition, and structure of current board
• Assisting with recruitment of new board members
• Review of by-laws & legal compliance

Finance and Accounting

Lenore Hawkins

This team will review, develop recommendations, and either directly implement or oversee the implementation of required solutions in finance and accounting.  Services offered include:

• Budgeting process review / design
• General ledger review / design
• Accounting process review / design
• Banking relationships
• Recommend cash management systems
• How to account for and manage restricted vs. non-restricted funds
• Internal controls

Fund Development

Ray Ellis

This team offers experience in all aspects of non-profit fundraising systems.  Services offered include evaluation and recommendations in the areas of:

• Funding sustainability
• Fundraising infrastructure
• Fund development planning and evaluation
• Revenue generation

Information Technology

Eric Busboom

This team offere experience with computer technology, software applications, and telephone systems.  Services include assistance with:

• Hardware and networks
• Websites
• Training
• Oversight and management of systems

Marketing
