Established in 2001, San Diego Social Venture Partners (SDSVP) invests its time, expertise and resources over a three-year period with selected nonprofits to support long-term solutions to community needs in the San Diego region.
SDSVP is part of an international network of over 1700 partners in 24 cities and three countries who have given more than 21.6 million dollars in cash and six times that amount in in-kind contributions to over 230 nonprofit organizations. SDSVP has over 140 partners who donated over 11,000 hours of professional services, valued at 1.1 million dollars, during the last year.
SDSVP is a "field of interest" fund of the San Diego Foundation, a 501(c)(3) corporation. The San Diego Foundation’s mission is to improve the quality of life in our community by promoting and increasing responsible philanthropy.
In 2008 SDSVP will support organizations using an innovative approach of providing collaborative solutions to addressing the needs of the elderly in San Diego. We will “partner” over three years with two non-profit organizations that can benefit from our capacity building assistance, both financial and professional support. We are broadly focused on services to the elderly, whether this entails housing, mental health, transportation, financial support or other services.
