Deadline: Friday, March 11, 5 pm

Take your organization to the next level by applying to be one of SVP's next Investees.  Selected nonprofits will receive $25,000 and two years of highly skilled support delivered in deep partnership.

For the first time this year, we will accept applicants in all issue areas.

Please contact COO Erica Halpern with any questions.

SVP seeks to develop true partnerships with nonprofit organizations. Each year, SVP selects nonprofit organizations called “Investees” to fund and support through pro bono consulting from our members, who are called “Partners."

Our Partners are a group of highly skilled, compassionate, philanthropically minded individuals who come with decades of experience in organizational leadership and business.

Our approach is unique, and most nonprofits are not accustomed to a funder being involved with the “guts” of an organization.  For those nonprofits that are willing to engage in this type of relationship, our alliance can support transformative growth and impact.

Eligible organizations have:

  • Registered as a 501(c)(3) or are fiscally sponsored by one

  • An operating budget between $400,000 and $7 million

  • A minimum of two full-time, paid staff members; preferably at least five

  • Headquarters and primary populations served based in San Diego

  • Board and executive leadership that are committed to a hands-on partnership with SVP to build organizational capacity

We encourage you to contact us to discuss whether your organization would qualify.

Investees are selected based on IMPACT and FIT

IMPACT - We are looking for nonprofits that:

  • Are making or very likely to make strong positive change in San Diego

  • Have a compelling vision for the future and a clear plan for how to achieve it

FIT with SVP - Ideal nonprofits for our partnership may:

  • Be at an inflection point

  • Need organizational infrastructure to catch up with rapid growth

  • Have identified the need for improvement in multiple Support Areas that would increase impact

  • Have strong leadership that is prepared to make significant changes and improvements to the organization
