Ever wondered how many nonprofits there are in San Diego? What overall themes are emerging from their work, their needs, their vision for the future? Join us to find out. The Nonprofit Institute at the University of San Diego School of Leadership and Education Sciences annually publishes the State of Nonprofits and Philanthropy Report which highlights the current state of San Diego’s nonprofit sector and the philanthropy that supports it. This study provides the most expansive view on the nonprofit sector available to funders, advocates, practitioners...and now SVP. We are thrilled to host Laura Deitrick, Associate Director of The Nonprofit Institute and Tessa Tinkler, Director of Research, to walk us through the findings from their report. They say, "Over the last 18 months, local nonprofits have worked tirelessly to provide critical partnership and community support in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. During this time, many nonprofits thrived while others had to fight for basic survival. As we reflect upon both the tribulations and triumphs of organizations during the pandemic, the value of San Diego’s nonprofit sector becomes more clear than ever."

Format is in-person with a virtual option available upon request. 

Location and Parking

Social Venture Partners' office address is 2245 San Diego Ave #121, San Diego.  There is ample street parking located along San Diego Avenue in front of our building.  After parking, head down the stairs to our suite, which will be directly ahead of you past the fountain at the courtyard level.  If you require an elevator, access is available from our parking garage on Hortensia Street.  Please let us know if we should save you a spot.  Please contact Angie Diaz on her cell at 619-648-7641 with any issues.
