An investment in SVP super charges our community. Your support will make it possible for SVP to advance the effectiveness and efficiency of those organizations improving our community every day. That way every dollar that they receive goes farther.

Weak organizational capacity can hamper nonprofit effectiveness

Running a business is hard – and funding just isn’t enough to translate good intentions into results.

Despite the incredible service they provide our communities, nonprofits cannot expand and improve their services without a strong organization behind them.

Nonprofits face many of the same needs as other entrepreneurs – they need stronger strategy, better financial planning, more effective marketing plans, and so much more – but they have far fewer places to receive such support.

Good news! There is an enormous pool of talent among professionals in San Diego that is not tapped.

Many exceptional individuals are looking for a way to solve some of the problems they see around them and have real skills that can help.

Most volunteer opportunities require basic service work and leave talented individuals no avenue to turn their high-level skills to good.

We move talent off of the sidelines

That’s where Social Venture Partners comes in. We move talent in our community off of the sidelines. Our pro bono consulting enables high-potential organizations to tackle the sticky issues that inhibit their impact.

We recruit, train, inspire and form dynamic teams of local professionals to offer totally free, customized, hands-on support on the cadence and intensity needed by the nonprofits we serve. We help nonprofits to develop quality business practices in areas ranging from strategy to operations and everything in between.

With our collaborative support, nonprofits increase the organizational strength needed for resiliency, creativity, sustainability and increase their impact.

As stronger organizations, they achieve stronger results. And that means a better community in San Diego.

Stronger nonprofits get better results for San Diego communities

Your support is highly leveraged. You make it possible for us to increase the capacity of dozens of other nonprofits every year.

For every $1 donated to SVP, we return $10 to the community.

"I don’t think we’d be where we are today [without SVP]. The facilitation value SVP provided us helped to cut our learning curve in half.

The biggest thing that points to the success of our partnership is that we are now using these tools we’ve developed to move forward. This translates to our ability to increase our impact specifically with the youth we serve."

Ben McCue, Executive Director, Outdoor Outreach

"We support SVP because of their dedication to enhancing the operations and increasing the impact of local non-profits, in our focus areas of food security and housing along with many others."
