Board Member, Secretary
A Hawaiian native, Mary has lived from one end of the US to other. Most recently she moved to San Diego after spending over 20 years in New York City. She is a CPA (currently inactive status in California and New York.) who began her career at Deloitte and Touche, and spent most of her career at large public companies such as Kyocera, Danskin, the New York Times, Hachette Filipacchi (publisher of Elle Magazine) and Topps. Her last position before leaving New York was as the Director of Taxation for the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research (a multi-national, not-for-profit private cancer research organization.) She holds a BA in Biology and a Masters in Accounting/ Taxation.
Currently Mary is in the midst of a life reboot. Having worked as a volunteer for the New York Women’s Foundation and for Free-the-Slaves during her tenure in New York, she is eager to use her professional and creative skills in a not-for-profit environment.
An avid world traveler, Mary has ventured to every continent and well as dozens of countries and all but three of the states. She is an amateur photographer, travel blogger, Masters swimmer, Masters level 3 swim coach and a student of the world.
