Tooling up for High-Impact Engagements

Updated: Mar 17, 2022

Over the past two years, San Diego Social Venture Partners (SVP) has deepened its relationships in the San Diego nonprofit community with the expansion of the Spark Team program, delivering pro bono consulting to local organizations seeking capacity building support. This year, we’re looking to increase our impact.

New for 2022, in an ongoing quest to provide high quality consulting to nonprofits, we’ve launched SVP’s much-anticipated Forums program to directly support our Partners in applying their business and professional background to SVP engagements. Forums include specialized trainings, tools and workshops that improve our effectiveness and deliver high impact engagements to the San Diego nonprofit community. We harness the expertise and extraordinary talent of our Partners in Design Forums, where we work collaboratively to develop the content for capacity-building topics presented as Forums.

This week, we held our first-ever Forum, Managing for Outcomes: Key Performance Indicators. The fun, interactive evening workshop was well attended by SVP Partners, many of whom are currently serving on Spark Teams. The goal of the Managing for Outcomes Forum? To give Partners the tools they need to help nonprofits define, measure, and implement Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

"You took a topic that can feel impersonal and somewhat daunting and brought life to it. This is such important information for working with nonprofits,” said Partner Pat Kaufman.

We can’t wait to see the impact of this Forum in the San Diego nonprofit community as our Partners put their learning around KPIs to practice in several upcoming SVP engagements. With the help of our Partners, data measurement doesn’t have to be headache inducing, it can be a useful tool to drive organizational and program improvement.
