REBECCA BROWN

Brown is a technology and operations executive with 20 years of experience in healthcare, biotech, and consulting. She currently holds an SPHR certification through the Human Resources Certification Institute. Brown specializes in operations assessments, strategic planning, process design, technology evaluation and implementation, vendor management, contract negotiations, and relationship management. She is skilled at building high performing teams with low attrition and helping leaders operate at their best by focusing on the things that only they can do while empowering their teams and direct reports to tackle the most pressing challenges.
Outside work, Brown has lent her HR expertise to Onward to Opportunity, an organization out of Syracuse University assisting veterans and spouses who are transitioning out of the military or attempting a career change. She has also been a part of Athena Group in San Diego, an advocacy group focused on women in STEM. While working at the Healthcare IT company Cerner, Brown also volunteered extensively with First Hand Foundation, Cerner’s Charitable foundation.
Brown is currently pursuing her HR Analytics and HR Administration Certificate through Wharton’s Executive Education program. She holds a Certificate in HR Leadership from Cornell University and a Certificate in Healthcare Administration from the University of Missouri, Kansas City. She received both her Bachelor of Business Administration and her Master of Business Administration from the University of Missouri, Kansas City.
Brown is originally from Kansas and relocated here for work in 2013 and then couldn't leave! Her husband is a San Diego native who attended the United States Naval Academy and served abroad for 12 years before returning to SD. They live in Carlsbad with their two children, their dog, and a million plants.
