Jeff Zember, Former CEO, Pli-Dek, Inc.
As President & CEO, Jeff built Pli-Dek from a start-up operation into the country’s leading provider of waterproof deck coatings, scaling the organization more than ten times. Jeff grew the business through the Great Recession by diversifying the company’s sales channels, developing a strong management team and optimizing internal operations. This included implementation of an agile management process that generated 50% revenue growth and doubled EBITDA over three years. As a result of bold strategic decisions and a relentless focus on business performance, Jeff facilitated Pli-Dek’s acquisition in 2018 by one of the world’s most well-respected private equity firms, delivering a $30M return to the company’s shareholders. He continues to advise Pli-Dek, as well as other client organizations and provides executive coaching to clients under his own firm, Zember Consulting.
In addition to his business endeavors, Jeff has also been extremely active in various nonprofit and corporate social responsibility (CSR) endeavors. While at Pli-Dek, Jeff committed significant corporate financial resources and employee volunteer hours to local non-profit organizations, including the Children’s Hospital of Orange County Oncology floor and the Community Food Pantry of Murrieta. Pli-Dek also provided impactful work experience for Care Right participants, serving individuals with developmental challenges and/or intellectual disabilities. Jeff currently serves on the Board of Directors for Unforgotten Faces, which provides nutrition, healthcare and educational support for children in developing countries. He holds a BS in Business from the University of Redlands and a MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management.
“Jeff is a rare business leader who can balance strategy and results with people, process and values. His commitment level is second to none. When Jeff does something, he’s all in!” Alan Mulally, Retired President & CEO Ford Motor Co.
