ELLEN KANE
Ellen Kane has a variety of professional experiences, tied together with her passion for teaching and training. Kane started her career as an educator at the University Elementary School at UCLA while training teachers in the Graduate School of Education. After a two-year term at the American School in Japan, Kane returned to Los Angeles and became one of the first employees of Jenny Craig, International. Under her direction as the COO, the company grew from 13 centers in LA to more than 700 internationally. Kane transitioned to leadership and management training in the biotech and high-tech fields, helping scientists and engineers move from academics into management positions.
Kane has an extensive background as a volunteer and board member. She has served as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) with Voices for Children, volunteered in the music and theatre departments at TERI, Inc and Banding Together Program volunteer at Music Therapy Center, and tutored with Casa de Amistad. She also served as a board member with the nonprofit Rancho Riding Club and K9 Connection.
Kane has a BA in Psychology from the New College of Florida, Sarasota and a MA in Child Development from Lesley University.
Kane is a watercolor artist and pianist. She recently retired as a jumping and dressage enthusiast after too many falls from her horse.
