Lynda Morin began her career as a marketing manager for the mid-Atlantic region of an international law firm. She was responsible for several practice areas including international trade, intellectual property and financial services clients. Lynda developed strategies for the opening of a new office in Northern Virginia’s technology corridor, lateral partner cross-selling business plans, managed media and community exposure for the firm, and handled the firm’s regional and practice specific event planning. She also was active in the firm’s pro bono work for political asylum applicants, primarily from Eritrea.
During this time Lynda became involved in a local animal welfare non-profit, quickly leveraging her professional skills to become a member of the organization’s board, and co-chairing the organization’s long-term planning committee as well as chairing several fundraising events for the organization.
After relocating to San Diego from Washington DC in 2001, Lynda decided to pursue her passion for helping non-profits full time. Since then she has served on numerous non-profit boards primarily in development and strategic growth positions, has served professionally in leadership roles in fundraising and volunteer departments of non-profits, and has served as an independent consultant to non-profits as a change manager for organizations in transition. She has worked primarily with organizations in the animal welfare, education and social welfare sectors. This work has included board governance issues, strategic partnership development, special gift initiatives, training programs for staff and volunteers, and development projects. Lynda is passionate about helping non-profits mature into professionally managed entities and aligning that growth into a long-term strategy – always with the goal of securing the organization’s future ability to fulfill its mission.
Lynda grew up in the military and spent a major part of her childhood in Germany. She graduated from Georgetown University School of Foreign Service with a degree in international law. Lynda and her children enjoy hiking, camping and hanging out at the beach.
