ED MURPHY

Ed Murphy worked at SAIC for more than 30 years, leading the Mergers & Acquisitions team in his most recent role. Previously, he served as the senior financial officer for the company’s aerospace division. Murphy retired in 2012 and has since worked as an adjunct finance professor at Point Loma Nazarene University, where he plans to re-retire in spring 2025. He has also provided limited consulting services.

Murphy served on the board of Workshops for Warriors for 10 years as the lead finance director. He was a member and chair of the Solana Beach Budget & Finance Commission for 10 years and volunteered as a tutor at Casa de Amistad. He is currently exploring new opportunities following his planned retirement from teaching.

Murphy holds a Master of Business Administration from Pepperdine University and a bachelor’s degree in finance and accounting from Georgetown University. He also completed executive management and M&A training at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.

Murphy is married to Cindy Outlaw and has two children. He enjoys hiking, skiing, golf, photography, and biking. He manages investments for his family and others and offers guidance on personal financial management.
