JOHN VAN CLEEF

John Van Cleef is an experienced nonprofit leader having held senior positions in both organizational leadership and fund development. Through his tenure with The Salvation Army, YMCA, Palomar Health and Community Resource Center, Van Cleef has direct experience with strategic planning, capital campaigns and nonprofit operations. He understands the importance of organizational advancement and during his nonprofit career, he has been privileged to lead a diverse range of human service programs in Carson City, Nevada; Medford and Portland, Oregon; Orange County and San Diego.

Van Cleef's work on an Endowment Campaign in Salem, Oregon was the culmination of a community planning process that led to the investment of $70 million into the creation of a new program center that transformed an empty industrial lot into a center of community activity.

Van Cleef holds a BA from George Fox University Management & Organizational Leadership and an MA from Theology Fuller Theological Seminary.

Born in Denver, Colorado, Van Cleef is a US Army veteran and has enjoyed living in communities throughout the West Coast. Though he spent his formative years in Seattle, he considers San Diego home. He has four children and a grandson.
