PAT KAUFMAN
Pat Kaufman began her charitable work as a volunteer with the Ithaca Youth Council in Ithaca, New York at the age of 16. She went on to work with the YMCA PAL program in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois. After graduating with a BS in Communications from University of Illinois, Kaufman headed to California and volunteered as a marketing consultant for Cedar House, in Long Beach, CA. In San Diego, she has worked with the Foundation for Pet Provided Therapy, where she served, for a time, as the National Vice President.
Kaufman's successful career in the for-profit sector includes GTE Directories (Verizon) and HomeFed Bank where she held leadership positions in sales, training, marketing and executive development. She has also held executive leadership positions with the Ken Blanchard Companies and the Covey Leadership Center (now FranklinCovey).
Kaufman's interest in nonprofit leadership expanded when she was recruited to be the Executive Director of Kickstart Kids, in Houston Texas, where she was hired to do an organizational re-boot. She and her husband Rick, an architect, are thrilled to be returning to the San Diego community.
