Dan brings a background in communications, public affairs, and digital advertising to SVP. He previously worked as a Senior Communications Strategist for the County of San Diego and a Public Information Supervisor at the San Diego Unified School District, California's second-largest district. In these roles, he collaborated with public officials and numerous nonprofits throughout San Diego, gaining valuable insights into the region's diverse communities. Dan also managed digital advertising campaigns and public relations efforts in both government and private sectors.
Dan has a strong commitment to community service, demonstrated through his volunteer work with organizations such as I Love a Clean San Diego, Hannah's Family Center, Surfrider Foundation, and more. He has also worked closely with several public schools in San Diego to boost their marketing and enrollment efforts.
Dan holds a Bachelor of Arts in Media & Communications from the University of Washington and served in the U.S. Army Reserve.
Dan has lived throughout the U.S. and has called San Diego home since 2016. He enjoys spending time with his wife, Marilyn, and their four-year-old son. In his free time, he likes traveling, sailing, hiking, exercising, and reading.
