At Impact Committee meetings, members of SDSVP review annual goals and check-in with Investees to ensure we are accountable for the impact we commit to having in our community.
Read more for an update on our newest additions, Traveling Stories and AAP-CA3:
Traveling Stories is a nonprofit that aims to help kids to develop a love for reading, encouraging financial responsibility and self-confidence in the process by using "Book Bucks" that are earned or negotiated to be used toward prizes. These tools lead to empowered children and young adults, setting them up for greater success later in life. Currently, Traveling Stories is working with its excellent SVP team to explore a social enterprise model, board development, and fundraising. At this current time, they have established pitch meetings, hosted a strategy retreat, and a year-end campaign for Giving Tuesday.
American Academy of Pediatrics, California Chapter 3 is a nonprofit that identifies and treats developmental and behavioral problems early and provides long-term family support services to parents. They ensure that every child has access to books and that parents are trained on how to support reading.
AAP-CA3 is working with SVP to increase fundraising from the private sector, develop comprehensive marketing materials, exploring alternative revenue models, and board development.
The Impact Committee meets bi-monthly to discuss our Investee partnerships such as these in greater detail. Any Partner can attend an Impact Committee meeting, and all members are encouraged to do so to familiarize themselves with the amazing work we do with our community.
